The Buttonwood Due Diligence Spring 2023 Conference is wrapped up and in the books!

Have you ever been to a conference where you had to sit through endless presentations and panels, one after the other after the other, until your brain was incapable of absorbing anything more? So have we. We’ve been listening to the feedback from our own conferences and other conferences in the industry for years and we decided we wanted to and could do better. And thus, you have the exclusive Buttonwood Due Diligence Conference.
Our Spring 2023 Conference used our same dynamic, socially minded, sponsor and BD/RIA-friendly focus that we introduced in 2022, and once again it was a tremendous success. We welcomed everyone to beautiful Amelia Island at the Omni Amelia Island Resort in Feb/Mar 2023. The weather was perfect, the ocean did its thing, and we got to enjoy a due diligence event surrounded by a great group of people.

Welcome Reception & Dinner
The week’s events started off with our Monday evening welcome reception and dinner overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with fireside chats, great food, and even better company. It’s always fun to welcome everyone and catch up before the conference begins in earnest. It set the tone for an enjoyable couple of days.
Dynamic Presentations
Our first full day of events started Tuesday morning after a leisurely breakfast
outside on the patio lawns, before we all came together to start the presentations. Our first day kicked off with Group 1 of our presentation groups. Each presenting sponsor gave a quick pitch overview, followed by our small group presentations and Q&A sessions, and then our closed door BD/RIA only sessions where the Buttonwood team could answer questions and share their thoughts with the BD/RIA attendees.
Another delicious meal on the patio lawns was then followed by our 2nd group of presenters. After we wrapped up the day’s presentation groups, we headed down to our Buttonwood Signature Dinner Event.
Dinner on the Beach
Imagine the sand in your toes, the sound of the waves crashing, the blues and pinks of sunset, the twinkle of lights above, the sound of laughter from the giant Jenga set finally collapsing after becoming a 7ft tower of questionable engineering, the soft conversation and laughter from conversations around the firepits and the smell of delicious, fresh caught and grilled seafood. That’s the Buttonwood Signature Dinner Event. We’re sorry if you missed it!
Presentations continued…
Wednesday started the day with our final group of presenting sponsors with their quick pitches, small group presentations and the closed-door BD/RIA Only session. After another meal enjoying the beautiful weather, everyone headed out for our Buttonwood Social Event.

JFK Jr had his secret wedding; we saw the wild horses; we learned about the Carnegies and their history with the area; and best of all, we enjoyed a relaxing social event free from the conference room and formalities of a business environment.
After the river cruise, we headed back for our closing reception and mini-golf. The competition was fierce, there were tears and tantrums (ok, maybe not quite that extreme), and vows for rematches. It was the perfect way to wrap up the week’s events. Drinks, apps, and fun in a beautiful setting.
Golf To Round It Out
For a small group of attendees, they had one more morning filled with social engagement and fun. Thanks to our golf sponsor, a competitive tournament was played at the Oak Marsh Golf Course with the winner taking home a cash prize.
Final Thoughts and Thank You
