
Steve Ogrin, M.B.A.
Co-Owner and Principal
Steve has been a part of the Buttonwood team since 2009 and possesses more than 20 years of diverse experience in due diligence, investment research, investment banking and asset management. Prior to joining Buttonwood, Steve worked with a Denver area investment bank focusing on sell-side mergers and acquisitions, transaction modeling, company valuation and restructuring analysis. Steve has also worked at Goldman Sachs and T. Rowe Price, focusing on the investment selection and trading needs of corporate clients, pension and retirement funds. Steve received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in finance from Colorado State University, and his M.B.A. in finance, economics and entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Steve has held FINRA licenses 6 and 63.
Aside from his work in the finance realm, Steve has extensive experience repairing and modifying vehicles, performing light general contractor work and immersing himself in anything and everything mechanical in nature. He has developed multiple consumer-facing products and currently holds U.S. utility patents on two of those creations. Steve's unique skill set affords him the ability to understand, evaluate and tackle challenges from a variety of angles. Steve is married with way too many kids and enjoys playing hockey, tennis and skiing when the time allows.

Vince Brady, MA, CPA
Co-Owner and Principal
Vince Brady has more than 20 years of experience in real estate financial analysis, commercial loan underwriting, and personal tax and retirement planning. Prior to joining Buttonwood, Vince served as the lead C.P.A. and a retirement counselor for a successful local wealth management firm and, earlier, as the lead valuations analyst for a national real estate brokerage firm. Vince received his M.B.A. in Finance from Arizona State University, an M.A. from Northeastern University, and his Bachelor of Arts from Regis University. Vince has held FINRA licenses 6 and 65. Vince has been a licensed CPA in the State of Colorado since 2007.

Alyna Ogrin
Corporate Communications Manager
Alyna joined Buttonwood in 2021 as part of the communications and development team. She has over 15 years’ experience in community outreach and team management. Prior to joining Buttonwood, Alyna worked for 8 years with an International non-profit in various roles, including Regional Coordinator, where she oversaw volunteer training, communications and regional event coordination. Alyna is currently the Co-Founder and Operator of a child safety product company. She has designed and developed various consumer products and currently holds 2 U.S utility patents. She is also the Co-founder and Operator of a local environmental cleanup and recycling company designed to help kids become involved in recycling while learning about business operations from website design to customer management.
When not running 2 companies and working with Buttonwood, Alyna spends as much time as possible with the gaggle of children she and husband Steve share. Alyna loves to be outdoors and enjoys nature as well as playing hockey and tennis, and finding time to pursue random artistic endeavors.

Derek Hayes
Alternative Investment Analyst
Derek Hayes is an Alternative Investment Analyst at Buttonwood Due Diligence.
Prior to coming to Buttonwood, Mr. Hayes was an Associate Director, analyst, and subject matter expert at Cambridge Investment Research. He specialized in investment and operational due diligence on a wide variety of alternative investment asset classes, product structures, and offering sizes.
Across more than a decade in the industry, Mr. Hayes has conducted deep dives on public and private investment products in real estate, private equity, private debt, hedge fund strategies, oil & gas, renewable energy, interval funds, money managers, structured products, and infrastructure funds, among others. He has reviewed several hundred such products ranging in offering size from several million dollars to tens of billions of dollars. He has regularly collaborated in industry efforts to improve alternative due diligence standards and assisted financial professionals in locating objective data on alternative products and asset classes.
Mr. Hayes is a CAIA Charter holder and has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Knox College. He currently holds the Series 7, Series 24, and Series 66 licenses.
He currently resides in South Florida.

George Dan
Due Diligence Analyst
George Dan has 20 years of corporate finance, operations, and general management experience, along with a lifetime passion for behavioral science. He joins Buttonwood as a due diligence analyst and adds his expertise to Buttonwood's experienced analyst team.
George holds an MBA in Analytical Finance from the Univ of Chicago Booth School of Business.
He is an investor in the financial markets, both domestic and international, as well as in the real estate industry. He is also a private investor in the healthcare sector, and a tech angel.

Dana Woodbury, M.B.A.
Founder
Dana Woodbury founded Buttonwood in 2004. Specializing in the analysis of illiquid investments, Buttonwood became known for generating a concise and prompt review of alternative products. Providing Financial Professionals with a sound knowledge of the program merits and presenting those to suitable clients was his top priority. Dana has been in the financial services industry since 1981. He has worked as a financial planner, due diligence consultant, and high yield bond portfolio manager. In January 1989, he began his association with a national independent broker/dealer, and during his twelve-year tenure served as Director of Due Diligence, Compliance Officer, and Senior Vice President of Equity Sales. Dana has been nationally recognized for his due diligence work, being named to the All Star Team of Due Diligence Officers by the Investment Advisor Magazine (1992, 1993, 1994). He has also served on the Financial Products Advisory Council for the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP, now the Financial Planning Association or FPA), and has spoken at numerous national meetings on due diligence analysis and asset allocation. He has been quoted in the New York Times, Rocky Mountain News, and the Denver Business Journal. Dana received his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and his M.B.A. from The University of Chicago. Dana has held FINRA securities licenses: 6, 7, 22, 24, 27, 31, 63, and 65.
